LOPTERRA is seeking an organised and commercially minded E-Commerce Officer to help manage online sales, customer relationships and day-to-day business operations. The successful candidate will support the full customer journey, from product discovery and enquiry handling to order processing, fulfilment, payment follow-up and after-sales communication.
Position Summary
- Role: E-Commerce Officer
- Employment type: Full-time
- Location: Lagos
- Experience: At least 1 year
- Qualification: BA, BSc or HND
- Field: Technology, Sales and Business Development
About the Role
This role is suited to someone who understands that successful e-commerce depends on both technology and excellent customer service. The E-Commerce Officer will help ensure that products are presented properly, orders are handled accurately, customers receive timely updates and internal teams have the information they need to keep sales operations moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop sales plans, including cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
- Manage online orders from enquiry through confirmation, fulfilment and delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels, replenishment needs and product availability.
- Coordinate with delivery partners to support accurate and timely deliveries.
- Engage prospective customers and convert enquiries into sales.
- Maintain the company’s digital presence and support online promotions.
- Follow up on outstanding payments and negotiated transactions.
- Research products, customer needs and market trends to identify revenue opportunities.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal sales teams.
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales and activity reports.
- Help manage budgets, costs and operating expenses.
- Identify recurring problems in the order process and suggest practical improvements.
Customer and Order Management
The role requires close attention to detail because small errors can affect customer trust, delivery timing and business costs. You may be expected to verify order information, confirm product availability, communicate delivery expectations and record important updates. When a customer has a question or complaint, the officer should respond professionally, investigate the issue and coordinate with the appropriate internal or external partner until it is resolved.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline.
- Experience in e-commerce, sales, operations or customer service.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms, inventory tools and digital marketing.
- Knowledge of order fulfilment, customer support and third-party logistics.
- Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving and reporting skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain attention to detail.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in improving sales performance.
Qualities of a Strong Candidate
A strong candidate should be organised, responsive and comfortable handling several priorities at once. You should be able to communicate clearly with customers, delivery partners and colleagues while keeping accurate records of orders, payments and follow-ups. Initiative is also valuable: the ideal person will notice opportunities to improve product presentation, increase repeat purchases, reduce delays and make the buying process easier.
What You Can Contribute
An effective E-Commerce Officer can connect customer service with commercial growth. By understanding what customers ask for, where they abandon the buying process and which products perform well, you can help the business make better decisions. Consistent reporting will also help management review sales activity, operating costs, fulfilment performance and opportunities for future expansion.
